A few years ago I visited Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado and was enamored by the forests of Aspen trees, specifically the Manti-La Sal National Forest in Utah. I was inspired by the graphic brown and white bark and the yellow leaves that flit around in the fall wind. When I got home I developed a pattern based on the Aspen trees I had spent time with. I hand paint each tree with underglazes and fill in the background with a rich, warm yellow called Harvest Gold. The pieces in this collection are finished with a glossy clear glaze.
